I’m Joshua Wilson, a journalist, editor and educator committed to strengthening local news through storytelling, innovation and mentorship.

After more than a decade working in Mississippi newsrooms, classrooms and communities, I’ve begun a new chapter as executive editor of a nonprofit newsroom in Georgia. My work focuses on helping revitalize local journalism in ways that are sustainable, inclusive and deeply rooted in the communities we serve.

Most recently, I helped launch and lead the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center at The University of Southern Mississippi — a student-powered newsroom focused on impactful reporting and media literacy. That experience renewed my belief in the power of local journalism to inform, connect and inspire.

This site will be updated soon to reflect my new role and ongoing work. In the meantime, thank you for visiting — and for believing in the mission of community-centered journalism. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn, too.
